Hello and welcome to Shlokaa!

I'm Gouri, the founder, maker, and designer behind the brand. I'm also a wife and a proud mum of two, living in Melbourne, Australia.

Shlokaa is more than just a small business—it's a heartfelt tribute to my greatest inspiration: motherhood.

The name "Shlokaa" is a combination of my two children's names. I have an energetic and curious four-year-old son who fills our home with laughter and adventure, and a kind, creative, and thoughtful thirteen-year-old daughter who inspires me every day. Together, they are the reason I found the courage to turn a lifelong dream into reality.

Shlokaa began with a simple dream—to create beautiful, handcrafted accessories that bring a little joy to everyday life.

I've always been drawn to art, florals, and surface pattern design. For years, I dreamed of transforming my creativity into something people could use, cherish, and carry with them every day. That dream eventually led me to my sewing machine in 2026, where I began transforming carefully selected fabrics—and my own surface pattern designs—into quilted makeup bags and thoughtfully crafted everyday pouches.

Every Shlokaa piece is inspired by nature's quiet beauty—soft florals,  ginghams, stripes and bows with gentle colours, and the little moments that make everyday life feel special. My hope is that each design brings a sense of warmth, comfort, and happiness to its new home.

Every bag is thoughtfully handcrafted in my home studio in Melbourne, Australia. From choosing fabrics and quilting each panel to sewing every zipper and adding the final finishing touches, every step is completed by hand with care, patience, and attention to detail.

Starting Shlokaa later in life has been one of the most rewarding—and sometimes challenging—journeys I've ever taken. It has reminded me that it's never too late to learn a new skill, embrace creativity, or build something meaningful from the ground up. Every bag represents not only hours of craftsmanship but also the courage to begin.

I believe handmade products carry something that mass-produced items simply can't—a story. Every stitch reflects patience, creativity, and the joy of making something with love and intention.
